Use Ristretto thoughtfully.
Version 0.1 · effective 22 August 2026. These beta terms may change before a general release.
What Ristretto is
Ristretto helps members arrange short, one-to-one conversations. The service is in a controlled beta: features can change, be limited, or be unavailable while we learn what is reliable. It is not an emergency service, professional advice service, employment agency, or guarantee of any introduction or outcome.
Your account and conduct
Use your own accurate account details, protect your sign-in link and device, and do not let another person use your account. Treat other members with respect. Do not harass, discriminate, threaten, record or share a conversation without clear permission, scrape contact details, impersonate anyone, or use the network mainly as a lead list. We can pause or remove access to protect members or the service; you can use the Safety centre to understand and appeal a decision where available.
Calls, transcription, and memory
Ristretto calls use end-to-end encryption while media travels through the call service. The web app does not record or store call media or transcripts.
On supported Apple devices, native transcription is optional and starts only after both people give a clear in-call consent. The transcription and any personal memory created from it remain encrypted on that device by default. Supported signed builds can offer a separate opt-in encrypted sync through your private iCloud database and iCloud Keychain; it is not required to use calls or local memory. Do not assume a transcript or sync is perfect, complete, or a legal or backup record; you remain responsible for what you say and how you use it.
Ristretto may surface possible follow-ups or tasks from your private memory. They are suggestions: confirming one does not send a message, schedule an event, or execute work. Safety evidence is shared with Ristretto only when you deliberately select and submit it; the app does not automatically upload a whole call, transcript, or private memory to a report.
Call encryption
Call media is encrypted on participants’ devices and stays encrypted while LiveKit Cloud relays it, so LiveKit cannot read the call media. Ristretto’s backend distributes the room encryption key to authenticated, authorised participants; it is therefore a trusted key-distribution service and is not blind to that key. This does not change the web app’s policy: it does not record or store call media or transcripts.
Privacy and third parties
Our privacy notice explains the account, scheduling, calendar, messaging, and safety data used by the web service. Google Calendar, LiveKit, Telegram, WhatsApp, email, and other connected providers have their own terms and privacy practices. Disconnect a provider when you no longer want the connection.
Beta limits and feedback
We make no promise that the beta will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. Keep an independent copy of anything important. Please report bugs and safety concerns promptly; feedback may help us improve Ristretto, without creating an obligation to ship a particular feature.
